Election Day

Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. (Romans 13:1)

The end of a tumultuous, contentious election season is in sight. Hallelujah!

Next Tuesday, we'll elect a new President, along with one third of the Senate, all of the members of the House of Representatives, and numerous statewide and local officials. I would encourage each of you to vote your conscience, selecting the candidates and platforms that conform most closely to a Biblical worldview.

It's easy to feel powerless, to wonder whether your single vote makes a difference in the greater scheme of things. At times like these, let's remember that this election is under God's sovereign control. Whatever the outcome of this Election Day, the King still rules and reigns, and our citizenship in his kingdom is secure.
